Prerequisites
- A broadband wired or wireless internet connection sufficient for video conferencing
- A computer—laptop or desktop—that meets Zoom’s minimum system requirements
- Phones and tablets may not be used to join the class as we will make extensive use of Zoom’s Gallery View, breakout rooms, and other online tools that do not have adequate mobile offerings.
- Brave (good), Firefox (good), or Chrome (privacy problems) browsers on a recent version of your operating system of choice (Safari does not work with one of our tools, Internet Explorer and Edge are untested.)
- A wired or wireless headset if using a laptop without a separate keyboard
- The microphone picks up too much keyboard noise from most laptops.
- You may dial into the call and use a wired headset with you phone if you cannot connect a headset to your laptop.
- Sufficient English fluency for business and non-profit environments
- To be determined: Printer, scissors, and standard office-style cellophane tape for printable workbooks (supports “Training from the Back of the Room” pedagogic techniques)
Minimum Viable Working Agreement
Each cohort of students will design and evolve their own Working Agreement (a set of working ground rules). In order to make this masterclass, the instructor asks the following “minimum viable” working agreement:
- Camera must be on at all times
- Multitasking strictly prohibited (must turn off phones, etc)
- Classes will be recorded to support my learnings as a teacher and support potential future applications for further certifications.
- Recordings will not be made available to the general public.
- Recordings may be provided to course participants on a case-by-case basis (need to balance the ability to make up missed modules against protecting the intellectual property)
